Its special is that it gives an explosion in the end, which not only will kill the unlucky necromorph its stuck too, but everyone around it. In order for it to be useful later on, you need to upgrade the altfire atleast. Find a tight corridor and nothing can come in. And its CRAZY powerful, dont listen to what jeff says, he is stupid on that point. Dirt cheap ammo, and you find plenty of it anyways. I've never thought of using the Javelin gun for that, is that a reliable strategy even if the gun is not fully upgraded? "i been using almost nothing else besides the javelin. Be sure to swap to the contact beam to damage the heart, it does insane damage. Use the plasma cutter to shoot nicole, it's high rate of fire make it a good choice, use stasis as much as you can on the other enemies and just shoot nicole if you're short on ammo. The last shop isn't that far from the final fight, just be careful if you still have to deal with the regen necro. You can upgade the contact beam's alt fire straight away if you have one node, so definitely do that. Also the detonator to get as much money as you can. not gonna spend another day trying to kill a boss on a game I already beat on console.Said: " I would definitely advise selling the line gun, the contact beam would be far more useful for this fight. Will probably try again next year but I cant keep putting the rest of my backlog on hold for this one game. I deliberately avoided using any DLC items as I wanted it to be a legit playthrough. This is the only way I can explain it feeling so much harder on PC than on Xbox 360. The enemy recovery animations play faster as a result of the higher framerate. I feel like the game is harder at 60 frames per second than it was on the slower 30 frames per second on console. I will have to replay the game in it's entirety at some point with better choice of weapons and make sure to come in better prepared in the final chapters. But, after having spent the better part of my Saturday attempting every tactic I could, I've concluded I simply am too low on ammo and health packs and credits, and my last save point doesn't go back far enough. Which is what is the most upsetting part. I actually beat it on Xbox 360 back when it came out.
